change agents
The Equality League Youth Council was created because young people—powered by hope and necessity—are the problem-solvers and change agents of our time.
Realizing full gender equality is a complex challenge but by training young athlete-leaders in advocacy and safeguarding, supported by a multigenerational network of experts, we can drive tangible progress in dismantling barriers to safety and equality, and increase visibility and support for the mental and physical well-being and resilience of women and girls in sports and beyond.

MOBILIZING THEIR PEERs
The surge in popularity of women’s sports has created an extraordinary opening for the younger generations who refuse to inherit a world of abuse and inequality to turn the tide on gender-based violence and discrimination in sports.
Gender-based harm remains pervasive in sports. The mental and physical impacts are life altering, largely hidden, and affect people who often do not wield the influence, protection, or support to speak out. Without intervention, the systemic barriers in sports will continue to reinforce physical, mental, sexual, verbal, and financial abuse, harmful norms—that limit women and girls from attaining their full power.
